Reflexology

 The Ancient Art of Reflexology

It is believed in ancient China, that the bottoms of the feet can be divided into 25 parts; each representing different parts of the body. The modern day theories of reflexology deal with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands that correspond to all the glands, organs and parts of the body. By using the thumb and fingers on these reflex areas one can relieve stress and tension and help naturally achieve your balance.

You will be lying comfortably on the massage table and primarily your feet will be worked on. There may be areas of discomfort, depending on your health and areas of concerns.

Sessions are approximately 45 minutes at a cost of $60.

Detox Foot Bath

This is a detox system used to alkalize the body and help facilitate the removal of internal waste products gently. We use the Platinum Energy Detox Foot Bath system, which we believe is the safest most accurate detox foot bath on the market. It is powered by two computer chips in the array which means that the first session is as effective as the last (not all foot detox systems are designed this way, which means you could receive a less effective treatment). This is a half hour foot bath followed by a fifteen minute electronic reflexology stimulation with our Electro-Reflex Energizer. Using Electro-Reflex Energizer is a full body experience. Not just another foot massager, the ERE utilizes low frequency stimulation to provide the ultimate feeling of relaxation. This type of foot massage promotes your blood circulation while loosening tense muscle tissues. Unwind with the ERE and feel the low frequency acupressure "fingers" gently massaging the bottoms of your feet. The heated foot pad keeps your feet toasty. The computerized programs vary the speed and intensity of the oscillation massage automatically. A control dial is available to let you set just the right amount of massage intensity.

The detox foot bath has been proven to be effective in removing acidic by-products and heavy metals from the body.

The detox bath and ERE sessions are contraindicated for some people including:

  • Diabetics with open sores on their feet
  • Pregnant or nursing women
  • Epileptics
  • Those with a pacemaker or other electrical device

Please call to ensure that this type of treatment is right for you.

Single session $50
Series of six sessions $250
Series sessions should ultimately be done a week apart for optimum results. Lifestyle changes, if needed, will make these sessions work even better.

Complex Decongestive Therapy (CDT)

What is Lymphedema?

Lymphedema is a chronic swelling (edema) of a body part caused by an accumulation of lymph fluid as a result of an insufficiant lymphatic system.

Lymphedema can occur anywhere in the body where the lymph nodes are removed or become non functional. Unlike other edemas, lymphedema leads to changes in the tissue such as fibrosis and an increased risk of infection.

Types of Lymphedema

Primary lymphedema is the result of missing or impaired lymphatic vessels due to abnormal lymphatic development. It can be evident at birth, puberty or after the age of 35.

Secondary lymphedema is more common and occurs when lymph vessels are damaged or removed. Factors which contribute to secondary lymphedema can include: trauma, burns, infection, inflammation, cancer treatments of surgery and radiation, tumors, reduced mobility/paralysis, chronic venous insufficiency and obesity.

Lymphedema can affect all ages and can happen to anyone. Lymphedema is a life-long management.

Signs & Symptoms of Lymphedema

  • Full or heavy feeling in the affected body part
  • Decreased mobility in the affected body part
  • Clothing, watches or rings can feel tight
  • Tightness in the skin
  • Abnormal swelling in the affected body part
If you feel unwell or notice a sign of infection such as increased redness, swelling, warmth or pain to the affected limb, you should be seen by your doctor or emergency personnel immediately.

At present, there is no cure for lymphedema; however, it can be successfully managed if diagnosed and treated in a timely manner.

Lymphedema Management

Treatment is designed to reduce and manage volume and decrease the risk of complications such as increased swelling and/or infection. In addition, life-long self-management is vital for optimal outcomes.

Complex Decongestive Therapy (CDT) is the recommended best practice for the treatment of this condition and is provided by certified CDT therapists.

Complex Decongestive Therapy includes:
  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) - redirects lymph fluid
  • Compression Therapy - compression bandaging and compression garments
  • Exercise - activates muscle and joint pump to promote lymph flow
  • Skin and Wound Care - keeping the skin clean and using ph neutral lotions
  • Instruction on Self-Management

Recommendations

Maintain a healthy body weight.

Good skin care helps to reduce the risk of infection.

Overuse may cause injury - work and exercise in moderation, build up your tolerance and strength slowly.

To control volume of the affected limb during exercise or activity, use compression garments or bandages as advised by the fitter or therapist.

Wear a compression garment when flying to help reduce any increase in swelling.

**Consult your healthcare professional for proper diagnosis.**

NAET

An innovative, non-invasive, drug free, natural solution that may alleviate sensitivities of all types and intensities.

Basic essential nutrients are treated first. Whole food, chemical, environmental and drug sensitivities are treated after clearing the NAET Basic 15 mixtures. NAET can often alleviate adverse reactions to egg, milk, peanuts, penicillin, aspirin, mushrooms, shellfish, latex, grass, ragweed, flowers, perfume, animal dander, animal epithelial, make-up, chemicals, cigarette smoke, pathogens, heat, cold and other environmental substances. It may take several treatment sessions to desensitize a severe allergen.

Your first appointment will be an hour. In that hour you'll be tested for 15 Basic nutrients. Your first treatment will take place during this appointment; it is for brain and body balancing. There is no need for additional prep for your first appointment; however your therapist will then determine what you'll need to do to prepare yourself and your home for the following appointments.

Your following appointments will only be 30 minutes. You will be tested on one of the basic sensitivities. You can only be treated with one basic at a time, per session.

After each testing, you will need to avoid the sensitivity you're being treated for, for a minimum of 5 feet and 25 hours afterwards. Be sure to prep your house for this period of time before your appointment.
*Example; eggs: avoid anything that has to do with eggs, such as food that contains eggs, birds, chickens and feathers.

There is no time limit in between each treatment session but if preferred, you can do a session every couple of days apart. If you are not severely immune deficient, you may need just one session for sensitivity. A person with moderate to severe amount of sensitivities may take about 15-20 sessions to desensitize 15-20 food and environmental substances.

Testing is done by muscle testing so no needles are required. The treatments are done with acupressure points on your back.

You are asked to refrain from wearing any fragrances, lotions and jewelry while you attend your appointment(s). As well as avoid wearing heavy sweaters as they interfere with the treatment process.

The first session for the hour is at a cost of $90
Each session after that for the 30 minutes will be at a cost of $60
(Please note that if you're wanting to submit a claim for this treatment, make sure your plan has acupuncture as an option. All sessions are billed for acupuncture only.)
